The Paper Airplane Trail at Powder Mountain is a must-see destination for outdoor enthusiasts and art lovers alike. Located in the beautiful Ogden Valley of Utah, this scenic trail leads to a large steel sculpture of a paper airplane created by artist Griffin Loop. The sculpture is part of his “Launch Intention” series and serves as both a symbolic piece of art and a unique landmark in the mountains. Whether you're hiking or biking, the Paper Airplane Trail offers panoramic views, fragrant forests, and a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity.

The Paper Airplane Trail is accessible from several points, with the most popular route being a short 0.7-mile hike that’s easy for all skill levels. For those seeking a longer adventure, a 7-mile loop incorporates the trail into a broader backcountry experience. Along the way, you’ll encounter wildflowers, pine trees, and stunning vistas. The trail culminates at the airplane sculpture, which is not only visually striking but also interactive—bikers can ride around and even over parts of the installation.

If you're planning a summer or fall visit to Powder Mountain, the Paper Airplane Trail should be at the top of your list. It's perfect for families, solo explorers, or anyone looking to blend nature with creativity. This unique trail captures the spirit of adventure and play, with the giant paper airplane symbolizing the dreams and possibilities that take flight in the mountains of Utah.

This is a great hike to do during the summer. It's always a lot cooler up there, and it's a nice short hike for kids.  The treehouse and the airplane are fun to play around on, too.
